Job Description:
The incumbent functions at a professional level as a field biologist within the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Fish and Wildlife with the primary focus of coordinating and implementating new and existing landscape level wildlife enhancement initiatives in the southern one-half of Indiana. This position reports directly to a Regional Supervisor, (Natural Science Manager I position).
Responsibilities:
The biologist is responsible for implementing and coordinating various facets of existing landscape level projects, acting as the local team lead, coordinating partner participation, tracking accomplishments and outcomes, conducting environmental assessments, assisting land acquisition personnel, making landowner contacts, preparing mass mailings, and conducting field days, tours, and public meetings, project promotions. The biologist will be responsible for working directly with conservation organizations, communities, developers, local planners and decision makers, as well as landowners in the targeted areas. The biologist is responsible for coordinating working lands projects with district wildlife biologists within the initiative areas. The biologist serves as the point person in developing new proposals and completing RFP's for national and regional program funding, and interpreting, coordinating, and integrating state, regional and national wildlife management plan objectives into new and existing landscape initiatives. Work with other federal, state, and local government agencies when necessary to accomplish division objectives. Prepare reports, evaluations, as necessary for division or department executives, the governor's office, or legislators. Preferred
Experience:
Specialized knowledge of biological principals, ecological variables and interactions, wildlife habitat management techniques, and life histories of wildlife species developed through education, on the job training and relevant experience with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in wildlife management, or a closely related field. Specialized knowledge of scientific methods, procedures and theories applicable to the management and study of fish and wildlife populations; Ability to obtain and maintain certification as a Commercial Pesticide Applicator in Indiana and obtain basic prescribed fire training; Must possess a valid Indiana driver's license; Must have excellent oral & written communication skills; Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize variable workloads and multiple projects; must have working knowledge of computer software to include WORD, EXEL, ACESS; Must have extensive experience in working with ArcGIS; Must operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment. Thorough knowledge and understanding of state, department, and division administrative policies and procedures pertinent to the management of the assigned fish and wildlife property. Ability to be creative at solving problems and developing alternatives in response to unforseen obstacles that come up during the course of carrying out normal duties. Extensive ability to communicate with fellow professionals, division and department executives, subordinates, the general public, landowners, local units of government, and the news media concerning Division programs and projects. Additional Comments:
The incumbent performs his duties in a variety of different environments, including an office environment, field environment, rugged terrain, and various adverse weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.). The incumbent is required to do occasional heavy lifting of equipment, tools, or materials. The incumbent may be required to work around potentially dangerous heavy construction equipment and farm equipment (e.g.
dozer, excavators, dump trucks, graders, back hoes, tractors, disks, mowers, planters, plows, tree cutters, etc.). The incumbent may be required to travel occasionally statewide and/or out-of-state to attend conferences, or assist with projects away from his assigned region.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
